OWENS’ GOAL = FINISH - In two ARCA RE/MAX Series starts, Alli Owens has
yet to see a checkered flag. The 19-year-old has proven to be competitive, but
mechanical woes have relegated her to a 41st place finish in Daytona and 27th in
Iowa.
“Mario (Gosselin, team owner/crew chief) has a super team and top
notch equipment,” said Owens. “Everyone wants perfection. Unfortunately,
we’ve just had some bad luck.”
After two disappointing results, Owens is approaching this race with a
one track mind.
“In order to finish first, first you must finish,” said Owens. “All I want to do
is take the checkered flag. I keep saying to myself, Finish. Finish. Finish!”
The Kansas Lottery 150 marks Owens’ debut at Kansas Speedway and first on an
unrestricted speedway. Despite mechanical troubles last week, she’s riding a wave of momentum.
“I’m very excited about getting this weekend started,” said Owens. “With all the excitement
surrounding Danica’s recent win, the atmosphere is going to be electric. On top of that, the
ElectrifyingCareers.com team is super motivated. We didn’t get a great finish last week but we were
running 12th before we had our problem. We were very competitive and it totally pumped everyone
up.”

WELCOME IBEW LOCAL 347 - Alli Owens, driver of the No. 12 ElectrifyingCareers.com Chevrolet
will carry an in-car camera in the Kansas Lottery 150 and it will be sponsored by the IBEW Local
347. Based in Des Moines, IA, IBEW Local 347 was scheduled to sponsor Owens’ in-car camera
last week at Iowa Speedway, but poor weather hindered its use.
“While in Iowa, I had the opportunity to meet several members of Local 347,” said Owens. “I
was so excited when they asked to be a part of our team. Afterwards, when I found out that the in-
car cameras were not used, I felt terrible. I’m glad I have the chance in Kansas to make it up to
them.”
CONGRATULATIONS DANICA, WHO’S NEXT? - As a female competing in a male dominated
sport, Alli Owens certainly understands the significance of Danica Patrick’s IRL victory last week in
Japan. Patrick’s victory answered one question while raising another.
"What Danica Patrick achieved is monumental,” said Owens, driver of the No. 12
ElectrifyingCareers.com Chevrolet. “It wasn't a question of if she would win, but when. I'm very
proud of what she's accomplished. The question now becomes, when will a female win in a major
stock car series? I hope to one day answer that question. She's an inspiration to all of us trying to
reach that goal.”

SHE LIKES TO TALK - In the past week, Alli Owens has spent much of her time speaking to
young people. The 19-year-old often visits high schools and colleges to talk to them about living a
focused life and following a positive life plan. She hopes that her words will inspire others to chase
their dreams.
“Last week, I spoke to 600 students in Des Moines,” said Owens. “On Monday and Tuesday,
the CA Central Coast Chapter of NECA invited me to Santa Maria, CA to speak to students at four
high schools and one college. In total, I spoke for nine hours and reached more than 2,000
students.”
