Peterson Racing: [Tim] Mitchell is preparing for another
season driving the #06 for Wayne Peterson Motorsports. "We
have a better engine program now, and I think we are better prepared
heading into the season than we have been in past years," said Mitchell
about the upcoming season. "Not having a big sponsor keeps us out of
the top-10. I have to do the best with the equipment I have and not try
to over-drive. It's really comes down to using common sense to take
care of my equipment while giving my best effort." Two
initiatives are planned to boost Mitchell's visibility and attract
sponsors this season. First, Mitchell will be launching a
weblog to chronicle his season. Mitchell is offering individual race
sponsorships that will allow businesses or organizations to be involved
in auto racing without the huge financial commitment associated with
being a full-season sponsor. Also, a "Race Fan's Dream" package is
being developed that will enable an individual to buy a single race
sponsorship. The Race Fan's Dream can be the ultimate gift for a
special occasion such as birthday, anniversary, graduation, or Father's
Day. "I know how special it is to be involved with ARCA as a driver,
and I think the Race Fan's Dream sponsorship opportunity would be a
great way for others to experience the thrill of being a part of ARCA
too," said Mitchell of the plan. The channels that will be used to sell
these unique sponsorship packages are as non-traditional as the
sponsorships: eBay and Craigslist. (ARCARacing.com)
